The middle school percussion students were hard at work!

The RHS Marching Spartans have a tradition of having middle schoolers learn some music to perform on the field at the football game. The middle schoolers enjoy it year after year and learn as they are having fun.

Middle school band students arrived at RHS on October 23rd during the school day to rehearse and learn the national anthem and school song. Afterward, they enjoyed pizza (who doesn’t like free pizza)? and got to perform on the field for the start of the game! They also got to watch the entirety of the football game, the halftime show included.

“I hope the kids have fun and have a sense of family, and that they will learn the next level of musicianship,” says Mr. Hill, the percussion teacher at Romeoville High School.

“I hope they have fun and see what else middle schoolers can do at the high school marching band level,” adds Mr. Fogarty, the band director for Lukancic Middle School. The point of hosting the middle school band night is to let middle schoolers see if being in band is for them at the high school level, and possibly find an activity for their high school years.
