Last year the IHSA made girls wrestling an official IHSA sport with its own end of season State Series tournament.  Then sophomore and current junior Josefina Orozco pioneered the girls wrestling program last year representing the Spartans in the SPC conference and the state series.  Josefina earned all conference honors at the conference meet and finished as a sectional semifinalist in the state series.

Coach Dellamorte will be hosting open mats for girls to try out the program before the season starts on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 2:30-4:30.  The season will start on November 7th.
